CASH DIVIDEND
- Cash Dividends are payments made by a corporation to its shareholder members. It is the portion of company's profits paid out to stockholders.

Example:
Last January 2012, I earned cash dividend from BPI:
Account No.: XXXX-XXX0
Stock Code: BPI
Cash Dividend (PHP): 0.90 / share
No. of Share Entitled to Cash Dividend: 460
Gross Amount: 414.00
Less Withholding Tax (PHP): 41.40
Net Amount (PHP): 372.60

Meaning kumita ako ng 372.60 Pesos sa BPI Stocks ko.

Another Example:
Last April 2013, PLDT distributed a whopping 112.00 Pesos cash dividend per shares.
So just for example if you own 1,000 shares of TEL you will be credited a substantial cash dividend of 112,000.

Let's do the math:
1000 shares x P112.00 = P112,000

Meaning kumita ka ng 112,000 Pesos sa PLDT Stock mo.


STOCK DIVIDEND
- A dividend payment made in the form of additional shares.

Example:
Account No.: XXXX-XXX0
Stock Code:MWIDE
Stock Dividend Rate: 30%
Ex-Date: October 11, 2011
No. Of Shares Entitled to Stock Dividend: 900
No. Of Shares Credited to the Account: 270

Meaning yung shares ko sa megawide ay dumami o nadagdagan ng 270 shares

Another Example:
If you have 1000 shares of Metrobank and they gives 30% stock dividend, your total shares will become 1300 shares.

Let's do the math:
1000 shares x 30% = 300 shares
yung 1000 shares mo idagdag mo un 300 shares galing sa Stock Dividend, meron ka ng 1300 shares.

At kapag ang presyo ng Metrobank per share ay 129.00 Pesos:
1000 shares x P129.00 (Market Price) = P129,000
1300 shares x P129.00 (Market Price) = P167,700

P167,700 - P129,000 = P38,700 (ito ang total price na nadagdag sa number of shares mo)


CASH/STOCK APPRECIATION
- This is the amount of money you gained in buying and selling your shares.

Example:
Ang presyo ng BPI ngayon ay P57.90 per shares
 at bumili ka ng 50 shares.
P57.90 x 50 shares = P2,895
at sa susunod na mga araw biglang tumaas ang presyo ng stocks ng BPI at naging P60.00 per share.
P60.00 x 50 shares = P3,000

So compute mo kagad kung magkano tinubo mo o itinaas ng value ng PBI stocks mo:
P3,000 - P2895 = P105.00

Meaning tumubo o tumuaas na ng 105.00 Pesos ang BPI Stocks mo.

Another Example:
When Bro. Bo Sanchez of Truly Rich Club advises us to buy Meralco Stocks
Of course we buy Meralco Stocks.
Price Last January 2013 was only at P260.00 per share

So for example you buy 1000 shares your value will be:
1000 shares x P260.00 = P260,000

Last May 2, 2013, the price of Meralco Stocks became P380.00 per share and TRC advices to sell Meralco Stocks
1000 shares x P380.00 = P380,000.00

P380,000 - P260,000 = P120,000
